Midnight in Paris opening scene
I love the opening scene in this movie, makes me miss walking the streets of Paris. Although I have to say riding in the back of a taxi down Champs Elysées and along the banks of Seine during night was the most magical thing
Another thing I love about this movie is that it manages to both romanticise about the past and condemn the idea that life is or was better in a different time, era or place. As said in the film, “Nostalgia is denial, denial of the painful present.” and “Maybe the present is a little unsatisfying because life is a little unsatisfying.”
I can relate to this. I’ve come to realise the reason I have traveled and wanted to move away and start over new somewhere else, is I believed in an ideal or perfect life. I soon found, that doesn’t exist
Life is about making it the best it can possibly be. No matter where you are, or when, life will probably be a little unsatisfying, but make the best of what you have
_Note to self: Watch more Woody Allen movies
This is a band. Forever the Sickest Kids, I believe.
This is also the 4 worst haircuts I’ve seen ever.
Is this what it takes to get ahead in life? shite music and worse hair?
If so, shoot me now.
Acoustic version of a song I wrote called ‘Wild And Young’.
